Ficus ginseng bonsai in a stoneware pot with a tiny saucer sitting outdoors in rainy weather.

The pot I bought my bonsai tree in always seemed inadequate, however, I made do with it, since the tree was still small and I was a total beginner in plant-caretaking. In the month I’ve had the tree I have learned a lot and whilst I wanted to repot the tree sometime in early spring, the discovery of some surface mold on its soil convinced me to advance that plan. From what I learned, surface mold grows due to lacking water drainage—the pot didn’t have any holes. Since I don’t intent to repot anytime soon again, it was important to me to get a pot that is both functional and to my liking. After a long, long search, I found the one in the picture. It is well crafted and its design very inspired. Repotting my bonsai today was fun and I am happy with the result so far, but it will take some days to see whether I did it correctly.
